Hi all,
On the 20th of Dec Sonia and i left Salt Lake City for our 27 hour flight to South Africa to spend Christmas and New years with my Family and Friends,
Our flying fun started with a flight to New york then to Dakar then to Johannesburg then onto our final stop Cape Town...shooo what a lot of time on the plane.
When we got to Jo-Burg we had to disembark the plane get our luggage then go through customs ...well some how our 3 suit cases never come through on the carousel ...hmmmm now what...we found the lost and found baggage counter to file a claim....the guy behind the counter gave us a case # and a phone # to call to find out the progress of the lost bags..
We then flew on to Cape Town to see my Family, i could not wait..it had been over a year and a half since i last saw them all...what a great welcome we had...
We all piled into the Kombie(van) with no suit cases and headed back to my Mom and dads house ...we all stayed up till 3 am chatting and catching up....
That morning i woke up first and went out side to see the view from my Parents House..wow it was amazing, i just sat out side and let my mind go crazzy with all the good times i have had in Hout Bay.....

We all had a few days to catch up before we headed up to my mom Sisters holidays house in hermanas, on the way we stoped at the Airport to get our 2 of our 3 bags that they had found...i was getting a little tired of wearing the same clothes for 3 days..we got to the air port and found out all 3 bags were there...Great... so on to hermanas we went..its about 1 and a half hours drive...it a good drive we past a huge squatter camp (shanty town)

We drove through a real nice mountain range and saw the opposite to a inversion...

We got to Hermanas and met up with every one, there were about 16 of us in all and about 6 dogs..we had a great Christmas and we got some great gifts and great food, Sonia did the Turkey and boy did she do a great job.
We went down to the beach a few times to catch a little tan.....

We all Stayed at my Moms Sisters house for a few days then went back to my mom and dads place back in Hout Bay the rest of the time in Cape Town....
It was great to do some long runs on my old stomping grounds ... I did a little local 15km road run for fun and had a good time and i all so did do one great run in particular up a road called Chapman's peak drive...and this is the view at the top looking back in onto Hout Bay...

We did some tourist things and wine tastings...and much much more...before the new years party....at the look out deck...this is a pic of myself, Sonia, Mom and Dad before the night got rough...we all had a great time ...
Thank you Mom and Dad for such a great time..
Love you lots.
